Unusual Old Banjara Textile

This is an old Banjara Indian textile probably used as a wall decoration with pockets for
storage. The textile may have also been used as a purse that was rolled closed and carried.
I'm not sure. This colorful piece is made of red cotton fabric embellished with interlaced
stitches in silk floss on one side. The side with pockets is made of silk fabric. Approximately
16 x 6 inches. Overall the embroidery is in good condition. An interesting and unusual textile.
