was once a pillow cover that has the back removed. (Or it could have once been part of a larger
textile, but it seems complete as is). Red and blue handloomed cotton cloth for the background
with fine white cotton applique work and embellishing flat stitch embroidery. Plain white cotton
backing. The applique work is well executed and very attractive visually. The embroidery and
applique work is in good condition. The edges are a little rough as they were trimmed by scissors
and have not been hemmed. The yellow cotton piping around the edge leads me to believe that
it was a complete pillow, but the piping is rough and missing in places. This piece will look great
as a pillow with a backing sewn on, or displayed flat on the wall, in a frame or on a table top. It's
a fun an vibrant textile. Enjoy.
