This is an old tribal textile that I had not encountered until recently. It’s a handloomed
cotten woven tribal skirt or shawl from tribal peoples in Orissa, either Bonda, Dongria
or Godaba. The textile is cotton and is 66 x 28 inches. The designs are woven in a
supplemental weft technique though I’m not sure if some of the designs are done with
needle work also.  The textile is in very good condition. There are 2 light stains in the
center of the textiles, but they are not nearly as noticeable as they appear in the
photographs. Has not been washed. This is an interesting and uncommon textile. $175
