Old or Antique Indian Kantha Embroidery
This is a fine small old Kantha Embroidery coverlet or table covering or wall hanging. The
West Bengal region of India is known for its fine Kantha work made from cotton cloth that is
quilted and embroidered with cotton thread and running stitch. This is a very nice late
19th/early 20th century embroidery in red, blue, black, and white floss. Lots of figures (guy in
a toga?) of people and animals. Whimsical folk art. Two areas of foxing stains, visible in the
photos, though not as dark as they appear in the photos. SOLD
